Ongoing Action! Phone Calls for Fairness
Time & Location
About The Event
Please join us in contacting Cornell University leadership to ask that President Pollack and other Cornell leaders stand firm against the sale of Confederate flags at New York’s county fairs. Cornell, through its Cooperative Extension program, is an integral part of every county fair throughout NY State. We demand that Confederate merchandise be added to the other items (such as alcohol and pornography) that cannot be sold at these privately-run fairs.
President Pollack has refused to take action, violating the University’s stated commitment to diversity, inclusion and equity. New York State Attorney General Tish James and the State Ag Department have already called on county fairs to stop selling these hateful items. Cornell must not silently sanction white supremacy at these family events.
- Use one of our scripts or come up with your own. The most important thing is that the President hears from many different voices amplifying a message of inclusion.
- Be firm, but please, don’t be abusive.
