In accordance with New York State law, ensure that no local, state, or federal funds support fairs that support racism. Signed in late 2020, the law sponsored by NYS Senator Alessandra Biaggi empowers the state agricultural commissioner to “take any measures necessary to prohibit the sale, on the grounds of the state fair and any other fairs that receive government funding, of symbols of hate.”
